COVID-19 vaccination – how appointments work
For COVID-19 vaccinations we currently use the vaccine Comirnaty provided by the German federal government. It comes in multi-dose vials of six doses each.
To avoid wasting vaccine, we coordinate COVID-19 appointments individually. Please let us know you are interested and we will contact you as soon as we can offer you a suitable appointment.

Who the vaccination is recommended for
The following summary is based on the recommendations of the STIKO. Whether the vaccination is right for you, we are happy to discuss with you in person.
What does it cost?
For people with German statutory health insurance, the vaccination is free of charge if the STIKO recommends it for you. The STIKO (Germany’s Standing Committee on Vaccination at the Robert Koch Institute) decides who is recommended which vaccination – see the groups below.
Flu
- Aged 60 and over – every autumn, with a high-dose or adjuvanted vaccine
- Chronic conditions, also under 60, e.g. asthma, COPD, heart, liver or kidney disease, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, HIV
- Pregnancy – from the 2nd trimester, with an underlying condition from the 1st
- Care home residents and people who live with or care for people at risk
- Jobs with many contacts, e.g. healthcare, schools, childcare, retail, public transport
- Frequent contact with pigs, poultry or wild birds
Note for pregnant women: Protection against flu and COVID-19 is especially important for you and your baby during pregnancy and is expressly recommended by the STIKO. However, our pharmacy guidelines mean that, for your own safety, we do not vaccinate pregnant women here. Please have the vaccination given as part of your regular care by your gynaecologist or GP.
COVID-19
- Aged 75 and over – one booster per year, ideally in late summer or early autumn
- Underlying conditions, also under 75, e.g. chronic lung, heart, liver or kidney disease, diabetes, obesity (BMI 30+), cancer, neurological conditions, Down syndrome
- Care homes and healthcare staff with close contact or a higher risk of infection
- Pregnancy with risk factors – from the 2nd trimester
- Close contacts of people whose immune system does not respond well to the vaccine
Healthy adults under 75 are no longer routinely recommended a COVID-19 booster.
Both on the same day? Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations can be given at the same appointment. At our pharmacy we vaccinate against flu and COVID-19 from the age of 18.

How it works: When you click “Send request by email”, your email program opens with a ready-made message to us – you only need to send it. If nothing opens, you can copy the request with one click and send it from your own mailbox. We check availability and confirm your appointment by email. Your appointment is only reserved once we have confirmed it.
Your request is non-binding. We also check whether our pharmacy is the right place for you. Even if the STIKO recommends the vaccination for you, your doctor may be the better choice in some cases, for example during pregnancy or with cancer. If so, we will tell you openly.
